MEET THE TEAM

Jessica joined the AKORN family in 2020 as part of our mortgage team and quickly grew her client bank, advising on all aspects of mortgages and protection.

Jessica has spent the last 2 years, within her mortgage role, developing her advising skills and prides herself on being able to act with empathy and understanding, especially in an area that is renowned for being extremely emotional and stressful. Jessica’s skills also lie in explaining complex matters in a straightforward, jargon-free way, whilst always providing a professional service to her clients.

When the opportunity arose to head up the advice service at AKORN Legal it was a natural next step given the advice skills gained from her mortgage role and that in addition to her mortgage qualifications, Jessica also holds a Master’s degree in Law and Legal Practice Certificate.

Whilst still holding a regulated position within AKORN Financial Advice Ltd, Jessica is able to offer a unique service to her clients through both businesses.

In her spare time, she enjoys going to the gym, spending time with family and friends and most importantly, looking after her dogs.

Angelo is a Chartered Financial Planner and Fellow of the Personal Finance Society and along with being the Managing Director of sister company AKORN Financial Advice Ltd specialises in providing AKORN Legal clients with Inheritance Tax and Estate Planning advice.

The unique position of holding a regulated position with AKORN Financial Advice Ltd means Angelo is also able to provide a full holistic approach to clients circumstances, through both businesses.

His hard work and dedication to the financial sector lead him to win the Lancashire Business View Sub36 Young Professional Award in 2019.

But when he's not focused on helping his clients, Angelo enjoys all sports from Formula 1 to Basketball and Golf. Plus, as a bass guitarist, he enjoys playing music as much as he likes listening to it.

But above all, Angelo is extremely family oriented. He loves nothing more than spending time with his wife, daughter, friends and family.

As director, Colin helps run AKORN Legal from a strategic perspective.

He is an experienced Mortgage and specialist Equity Release adviser and is on hand through his regulated role as a director of sister company AKORN Financial Advice Ltd to help clients of AKORN Legal should the need arise.

Outside of work, family is of big importance to Colin and he likes to spend as much time with his daughters and girlfriend. You can find him driving tractors and diggers occasionally, playing the drums far too loudly and swinging a golf club badly.

And it would be wrong to not mention his passion for Blackburn Rovers and the occasional craft beer (sometimes at Tap Select in Oswaldtwistle).
